Youth Teambuilding & Leadership Program
We are pleased to offer for youth groups, a modified version of our adult
Pull Together Program. This leadership and followership enhancement program
lasts 2 hours and can be provided to youth groups from 10 to 120 members.
When offered through school course work, this program can be taken for
school credit. It is also availabe to scout programs for merit badge credit.
P - preparing youth for team leadership by allowing them to be effective
leaders and followers in challenging situations
U - under stress, program participants overcome ambiguity and role confusion
to develop a cohesive team
L - learning to communicate, collaborate, and commit in ways that strengthen
team goals and results
L - laughing about how poorly their team can perform when leadership and
responsibilities are unclear on the water
T - testing the fibre of their group relationships by listening to divergent
ideas, and thinking outside of the box
O - overcoming huge obstacles presented by our unique "flat boats" that make
paddling nearly impossible without common goals
G - gaining insight about what it takes to Pull Together, and then doing it
infinitely better in their second paddling challenge
E - educating team members about how individuals can make contributions toward
the team task
T - thinking the impossible is possible through clarity and agreement about
how to succeed as a team
H - help will come if teammates clearly consider what help they need and ask
for it in a positive way
E - everyone makes a difference in Pull Together
R - resolve -- in spite of adversity in the initial boating experience, the
team comes together and learns to pull together
Price of the Youth Pull Together Program is negotiated on an individual
basis, as are scholarship opporutnities for participants.
